Oakland Museum collected the Phoenix Jeans (cover jeans) and the Hero Shirt years ago and will include them and other F&F pieces (serially for conservation reasons) in a long-term exhibit called RADICAL ACTS opening July 18, 2014, focusing on 60’s radically-related art. They videoed an interview including lots of images from F&F which will be available in segments via a push-button display located near the jeans and a newly acquired Alex & Lee piece from the 70’s. It’s not a fiber show, but related to the radical history of the times, which pleases me!
The museum hosts a party atmosphere on Friday evenings from 5-9, with music and dancing, food trucks and drinks, and half-price gallery admission. The newly installed work will go on view starting the evening of July 18th.
